One Billion Internet Users
I got this statistic from The Economist, which confirms much of the expectation for any advanced communications service: eventually, service is deployed until everybody who wants it, has it.
Often it starts in rich markets where the innovators live, but as shown in the graph, the 'Marco Polo' effect takes over.
[[Marco Polo]] was the Italian adventurer who brought to Italy many exotic Chinese inventions (gunpowder, pasta and silk) and made a fortune for himself selling it. Cross-pollination using products and service ideas is a great way to be a fast follower, which of course is getting harder and harder since ideas travel faster and faster these days.
